Situated on the banks of the Swan River in 100 hectares of parklands, Burswood Entertainment Complex is only 15 minutes from the airport and a short distance to the CBD.
Boasting two international hotels, an 18-hole golf course, fully equipped gym, sparkling swimming pools, state-of-the-art convention and events facilities, restaurants, bars and the excitement of the 24-hour casino, there is something for everyone.
All scientific sessions will be held at the Convention Centre, along with the Welcome Function and Conference Dinner. The 3M Crime Night will be held offsite.
Accommodation
Block bookings have been made at both the InterContinental and Holiday Inn, situated at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
Accommodation bookings must be made by Friday 24th October via AIOH registration form to avoid disappointment and ensure the discounted rate. Delegates are also welcome to take advantage of the special room rate offered by the hotels if they would like to extend their stay in Perth.
If you nominate twin-share accommodation, it is your responsibility to nominate the person with whom you will be sharing the accommodation.
Note that the AIOH will only administer accommodation booked for the conference venue this year.
Transportation
The Burswood Facility is located less than fifteen minutes by taxi from the Domestic Airport. The International airport is a further five minutes in travel time. Shuttle buses at both the International and Domestic Airports provide a drop-off and collection service to the Burswood Facility. Please see your travel advisor for information on these services.
General Information
The Burswood Facility is approximately five minutes from the centre of the City of Perth. A regular Red Tram provides a tourist connection to the City Centre for approximately $5. This tram travels around the major City Centre sites. The tram includes a stop off at Kings Park (vantage point in park grounds overlooking the city with comfort facilities) and the Swan Bell Tower adjacent to the Perth Ferry boat jetty. The tram provides a continuous circuit tour during daylight hours. A taxi rank, concierge facility and Tourist Information Board at the Burswood can assist in your travel plans.
The Conference Committee will also be running a relaxing and enjoyable Partners’ Program designed to highlight your visit to Perth and provide a fun and interesting experience. Your designated Guide for the Partner’s Program during the Conference will be Rob Burns.
