BASIC PRINCIPLES IN OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENE


The Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists are pleased to announce the very popular Basic Principles Course will be held in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth in the coming months.

Set over four (4) days, this course is taught using multimedia by professional, trained, practicing occupational hygienists and covers the following topics:
  • Introduction to Occupational Hygiene
  • Introduction to Toxicology, Physiology & Epidemiology
  • Exposure Standards & Dose
  • Physical Hazards including noise, thermal environment, vibration, lighting and radiation; ionising and non-ionising
  • Chemical Hazards including sampling equipment, aerosols, gases & vapours and fibres
  • Biological Hazards
  • The Practice of Occupational Hygiene; The Walk Through Survey and Sampling Strategies;
  • Controls; The Hierarchy of Control; Ventilation and PPE
  • Information Sources
