Onwards and Upwards: Building Towards a Bright Future

Session Information:

Presented as a CES at the 2022 AIOH Conference, this session is to inform and present potential pathways for those interested in an Occupational Hygiene career. However, this is not just for those new to this fascinating and rewarding profession but ranges right up through to members looking to wind down after a long career and pass on their wealth of knowledge and experience to continue to build our profession.

The session will explore career pathways, possibilities and opportunities associated with your individual goals and career stage. The topics covered include:

  • leadership, networking and getting involved with the AIOH.
  • career pathways and expectations associated with performance at the different AIOH career development levels,
  • educational and professional development opportunities available,
  • requirements & support to attain full membership and Certified Occupational Hygiene (COH) status,
  • mentoring and mentee opportunities and benefits

Speaker Information:

Adélle Liebenberg is a Certified Occupational Hygienist and Fellow of the AIOH (COH, FAIOH) currently serving as the Chair of the COH Board and is also a member of the Professional Development and Education Committee of the AIOH. Professionally she has experience in Occupational Hygiene Assessments, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Management, Project Management and Teaching and Learning.

Her work experience ranges from mining operations (gold and coal mining) to industrial and manufacturing facilities, with work in both private practice and as a consultant. She has been a lecturer in Occupational Hygiene since 2014 and joined the Edith Cowan University as a lecturer in Occupational Hygiene and Toxicology in 2020. She is also currently enrolled in a PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health focused on the prevention of Occupational Hearing Loss.

Schedule:

5.00pm – Doors open for networking, food & non-alcoholic drinks

6.00pm – Latest AIOH news

6.10pm – The presentation will run for approximately 45 minutes, followed by Q&A.

Networking, as well as the food and non-alcoholic drink service, will continue after the presentation.

Cost:

AIOH/RACI Members – $25

Non Members – $35

AIOH student members – $5 (student cards to be shown for entry)

0.25 CM points awarded for attendance
