Topic: Systems and Mechanisms to Govern Construction Health and Hygiene Risks
Over two decades, Sydney Metro will deliver Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure project, including 46 stations and more than 113 kilometres of the metro rail network. To deliver such infrastructure, Sydney Metro relies on contracting companies of various sizes to execute a wide scope of construction activities.
To prevent health hazard exposure and potential occupational illness’ in the thousands of workers who will contribute to the delivery of such infrastructure, Sydney Metro has developed and embedded systems and mechanisms to govern contractor occupational health performance.
Holly Fletcher, Director of Occupational Health and Hygiene will share how Sydney Metro applies risk governance systems during contract tendering, procurement and project delivery to ensure contractor occupational health performance.
Attend this session to learn more about the risk governance framework and associated activities deployed at Sydney Metro to systematically manage the occupational health performance of the world’s largest construction and tunnelling companies. It’s much more difficult than you think!!
Holly Fletcher is a Certified Occupational Hygienist and has worked on major projects in various industries throughout Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Laos, including gas extraction, resource recovery, complex contaminated land remediation and large-scale tunnelling and underground mine expansion projects. Holly is the Director of Occupational Health and Hygiene at Sydney Metro and supports Transport for NSW to deliver the Sydney Metro Train System, Australia’s largest public transport infrastructure project.
