Session Information:   “WorkSafe, WHS Laws and Dust Strategy”

Find out why WorkSafe WA has released a Dust Strategy, what does the strategy involve, and how the strategy will assist industry to ensure their compliance with respect to dust management.

Sally North and Alan Thain from WorkSafe will also provide information on the implementation of WHS laws over the first 10 months from an occupational hygiene perspective.

 Sally North, Director, WorkSafe Service Industries and Specialists

Alan Thain, Principal Scientific Officer, WorkSafe Service Industries and Specialists Directorate

Speaker Information:

Sally North (MAIOH) has over 20 years’ experience with WorkSafe WA. In her role as Director, WorkSafe Service Industries and Specialists, Sally leads a directorate of inspectors with teams covering occupational hygiene, asbestos, human factors, plant and engineering, retail and service industries, and the public sector. Sally has qualifications in chemistry, occupational hygiene, OSH and business administration.

Alan Thain (MAIOH) is the Principal Scientific Officer of the Occupational Health, Hygiene and Noise team at WorkSafe WA. With a background in consultancy Alan has conducted occupational hygiene assessment in workplaces across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Alan leads a team of specialist inspectors conducting assessment of occupational health, hygiene and noise related matters.

 

 

Schedule:

5.00pm – Doors open for networking, food & drinks (note: alcohol will not be provided at this event due to catering challenges)

6.00pm – Latest AIOH news

6.10pm – The presentation will run for approximately 45 minutes, followed by Q&A.

Networking, as well as the food and non-alcoholic drink service, will continue after the presentation.

Non Members – $35

AIOH student members – $5 (student cards to be shown for entry)

0.25 CM points awarded for attendance
