Analysing RCS – The trouble with numbers

Presenter(s): Laurie Glossop

The purpose of this presentation is to bring awareness and a reinvigorated conversation on measurement uncertainty, and how it can silently impact upon our professional work.

The context for the presentation/discussion is measurement uncertainty in both the sampling and analysis of respirable crystalline silica (RCS) which is important as over 1 million people in Australia are exposed to RCS in their workplaces. However, it will become apparent that the issues we will discuss can apply to a wide range of other substances.
