The AIOH encourages its members to get involved, and to understand the objectives and activities performed by the Council. The current Council comprises the following AIOH members:

Organisation: Monitor Consulting Services Pty Ltd, Director and Principal Consultant
OH Specialisation: Heat stress monitoring and system management, Occupational health risk management.
Other Interests: Cooking, gardening, lead lighting, golf and, of course, family.
Reason for being on Council: I have been a member of the AIOH since 1991 and have been attending conference since that time. I have previously taken on roles at the AIOH, including President (2003), Conference Chair (2006), Director on the OHTA Board and other committees.

OH Specialisation: Occupational health risk management in a range of high-risk industries; silicosis prevention; COVID-19 management in the workplace; ventilation; respiratory protection.
Other interests: I’m a strong advocate for the protection of worker health across many sectors, and am involved in several national and State committees regulating protection for healthcare workers and COVID as well as construction workers and respirable crystalline silica.
Reason for being on Council: Occupational hygienists provide a unique and vital contribution to creating safer Australian workplaces. For us to make that contribution, we need to be proactive, engage in the public debate, and ensure we’re heard when it comes to key decisions that impact worker health protection. I hope to continue on the great work of previous Councils in advocating for our profession and demonstrating the important role we have in protecting worker health.
Other interests: Travelling, gardening, Rotarian and a novice golfer.
Reason for being on Council: Making a difference to protect worker health. I have been an AIOH member for 40 years and contributed as President, Secretary, Councillor, Certification Board and State Liaison Officer. However, as a key contributor to the Breathe Freely Australia, I saw the great opportunities and partnerships which were now opening up to the AIOH, which previously were not available. This exciting change, re-energised me to stand for Secretary and promote the AIOH as the premier OH professional organisation with governments, industries, unions, NGO and other professional associations.

Other interests: Representative on the AIOH Awards Committee, pervious Director AIOH Foundation, member of Bayside Kiwanis Club
Reason for being on Council: I am excited to be a part of the AIOH Council to assist AIOH to the next level as a priority association for occupational health and hygiene in Australia. I am passionate about workers health in Australia and reducing occupational illness across all industries. The continued raising awareness on health risk assessment, exposure assessment and most importantly implementation of robust controls is vital to this success. I believe that the council can raise importance of industry using qualified occupational hygienists will improve these outcomes

OH Specialisation: Occupational hygiene education and research, chemical risk management, heat stress monitoring and assessment.
Other interests: In addition to being a COH, I’m also a Fellow and Certified Charted member of the AIHS and am passionate about protecting worker health and safety and the continuing education and professional development of both the general OHS profession as well as the occupational hygiene profession. In my spare time a like spending time with family and friends and enjoy drawing and painting.
Reason for being on Council: I have always enjoyed being actively involved in the professional associations I am a member of and enjoy giving back to the profession. I have been a member of the AIOH PD&E Committee and also Chair of this committee for many years and felt it was a good opportunity to contribute further by nominating for Council. I am particularly interested in helping to grow our profession, the ongoing professional development of members, and the promotion and recognition of the important role of occupational hygienist’s in protecting and improving worker health.

Other Interests: Spending time with our three boys; camping, fishing, exploring with the family, snowboarding, coaching soccer and Oz tag, whilst being used as the wife’s and oldest boy Tae Kwon Do attack dummy. Volunteering for rural fire service and QFES scientific Officers.
Reason for being on Council: I am passionate about promoting the health and wellbeing of workers and volunteers. The opportunity to be on the council, is a chance to give back to the AIOH and its members, by attracting new innovative passionate people to educate and communicate with the wider workforce about the importance of understanding where health and hygiene fit into the OHS matrix. I am honoured to be able to support the council and its members by championing our profession.
