Reason for being on Council: I am at a point in my professional career where I want to give back to the organisation which has given me this fantastic vocation. I want to use my experience within academia and private industry to help Council deliver a risk based strategic improvement program that is both consistent with the Institute’s Vision of a Healthy Workplace and helps support our members achieve their career goals within the profession of Occupational Hygiene.

Organisation: Monitor Consulting Services Pty Ltd, Director and Principal Consultant
OH Specialisation: Heat stress monitoring and system management, Occupational health risk management.
Other Interests: Cooking, gardening, lead lighting, golf and, of course, family.
Reason for being on Council: I have been a member of the AIOH since 1991 and have been attending conference since that time. I have previously taken on roles at the AIOH, including President (2003), Conference Chair (2006), Director on the OHTA Board and other committees.

Name: Dr Sharann Johnson, PhD, BSc(Hons), COH, FAIOH,
Organisation: Director, Callander & Johnson OHS Consultancy Services. OH Specialisation: Mining, Oil & Gas, OH Management and Risk Assessments.
Other interests: Travelling, gardening, Rotarian and a novice golfer.
Reason for being on Council: Making a difference to protect worker health. I have been an AIOH member for 40 years and contributed as President, Secretary, Councillor, Certification Board and State Liaison Officer. However, as a key contributor to the Breathe Freely Australia, I saw the great opportunities and partnerships which were now opening up to the AIOH, which previously were not available. This exciting change, re-energised me to stand for Secretary and promote the AIOH as the premier OH professional organisation with governments, industries, unions, NGO and other professional associations.
OH Specialisation: Principal Hygienist working across Resources, Heavy industry, Infrastructure, Defence and Government sectors.
Other interests: Casual bike rides every weekend with our twin 7 year olds. Dreaming of snowboarding between the odd overseas trip to get my fix. Watching the North QLD Cowboys and Daniel Ricciardo (F1).
Reason for being on Council: My motivation to be a part of the AIOH Council stems from watching the long list of selfless leaders in our professionals commit to improving worker health. I am proud to add to their story and help other motivated members.

Organisation: OHMS Hygiene
Director and Principal Hygienist working across mining, oil & gas, heavy industry, construction, and government sectors
OH Specialisation: General occupational hygiene and environmental chemist.
Other interests: Taxi driver for my 3 children to their multiple sports each week!
Reason for being on Council: Having been a regular AIOH contributor for many years I feel that the opportunity that has been given to me to be on Council allows me personally to be involved with the ongoing Institute improvements and give back to an Institute that I am proud to be a member of.
OH Specialisation: General Occupational Hygiene, Mining, Asbestos Management, Health & Hygiene Management Systems, Noise & Vibration, IAQ
Other Interests: Spending time with our three boys; camping, fishing, exploring with the family, snowboarding, coaching soccer and Oz tag, whilst being used as the wife’s and oldest boy Tae Kwon Do attack dummy. Volunteering for rural fire service and QFES scientific Officers.
Reason for being on Council: I am passionate about promoting the health and wellbeing of workers and volunteers. The opportunity to be on the council, is a chance to give back to the AIOH and its members, by attracting new innovative passionate people to educate and communicate with the wider workforce about the importance of understanding where health and hygiene fit into the OHS matrix. I am honoured to be able to support the council and its members by championing our profession.
