Reason for being on Council: The occupational hygiene community and AIOH are underutilised by the general community and government and there is much more we can do to improve preventative health for workers and the community through the application of good science. AIOH can play a pivotal role in this and I was keen to be part of our previous Council who were working towards getting AIOH on a sound financial footing, boosting membership and engaging with government to get AIOH working more effectively in support of our members. Since then the experience has been of rewarding work with a great group of people who give up personal, professional and business interests for their AIOH jobs and one which I have enjoyed immensely.

In addition there is the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of Councillors who function like a board in the management and governance of Institute affairs and funds.
