Reason for being on Council: The occupational hygiene community and AIOH are underutilised by the general community and government and there is much more we can do to improve preventative health for workers and the community through the application of good science. AIOH can play a pivotal role in this and I was keen to be part of our previous Council who were working towards getting AIOH on a sound financial footing, boosting membership and engaging with government to get AIOH working more effectively in support of our members. Since then the experience has been of rewarding work with a great group of people who give up personal, professional and business interests for their AIOH jobs and one which I have enjoyed immensely.

Reason for being on Council: I strive to be a leader in Occupational Hygiene. I am honoured to be on AIOH council and relish the opportunity to expand the influence of the Institute to deliver outcomes aimed at delivering value for members and protecting the health of workers.

Reason for being on Council: AIOH Council participation gives me far more than I had expected. There is meaningful work to do for protection of worker health and the benefit of occupational hygiene professionals. In addition there is the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of Councillors who function like a board in the management and governance of Institute affairs and funds.

The Pilbara also has many great places to explore and perfect weather to enjoy outdoor lifestyle. When its time to relax there is nothing better than a cuppa, freshly baked biscuit and a good book.
Reason for being on Council: The opportunity to be on council is a chance to give back to the AIOH and the that have provided me with many opportunities. As many in our profession understand, many workplaces still don’t know what occupation hygiene is and the value they can add to creating a healthy workplace and protect their workers. It would be amazing to be able to assist with increasing the profile of our profession.

I want to use my experience within academia and private industry to help Council deliver a risk based strategic improvement program that is both consistent with the Institute’s Vision of a Healthy Workplace and helps supports our members achieve their career goals within the profession of Occupational Hygiene.
