Speaker – Jim Hondros, President, Australasian Radiation Protection Society (ARPS)
Jim Hondros is currently the President of the Australasian Radiation Protection Society with more than 35 years experience in radiation protection, community relations, health, safety and environmental management in the mining industry. In recent years, Jim has worked internationally with the International Atomic Energy Agency providing assistance in countries developing their radiological protection systems.
This talk will be wide ranging from the immediate resource impacts of nuclear submarines to the longer term philosophical impacts of nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl and Fukushima. The talk will provide an international and national perspective on workplace and environmental radiation management and the potential opportunities for AIOH members in this space.
