Audiometry in WA: out with the old, in with the new…

For over 40 years, WorkCover WA managed the audiometric testing scheme for noise exposed workers in WA. In 2024 this all changed.

WorkCover WA stepped away from the testing regime and changed the NIHL compensation claim pathway. Concurrently, WorkSafe WA stepped in with a new set of audiometric surveillance protocols under WHS regulation 58/118. Getting our heads around the changes has been a challenge! At this sundowner session, Glenn will describe the new audiometry requirements for WA’s high noise workplaces.

6.00pm – Latest AIOH news

6.10pm – The presentation will run for approximately 30 – 40 minutes, followed by Q&A.

Networking, as well as the food and drink service, will continue after the presentation.

Glenn Johnson

Founder and Director of The Hearing Company, a WA-based business supporting noisy industries with audiometry training, equipment and consulting services.

As an Occupational Audiologist, Glenn’s primary interests are the effects of noise exposure on workers and supporting companies to manage audiometric testing programs. He has delivered training courses and consulting advice all over Australia and around the world, with clients ranging from small medical centres through to governments and global corporations.
