ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position based at the Appin Mine site, which is near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

As the Hygiene Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing to the development, governance and continuous improvement of hygiene standards, systems and practices to manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance across GM3 operations.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Providing specialist support on hygiene management to operational teams
  • Provide input into the strategic direction for hygiene management to reduce long-term risk exposure, support legal compliance and promote enduring hygiene outcomes
  • Analysis of hygiene data, including event management and assurance outcomes

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Understanding of hygiene management processes and technologies and relevant industry standards
  • Experience working in a similar role within an operational environment
  • Ability to identify issues, analyse data and recommending practical improvement and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships (face-to-face and remote)

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma (Science / Safety / Engineering / Similar)
  • AIOH Full membership
