About your role                                                                                                                 

Reporting directly to the Specialist – Occupational Health & Hygiene, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

  • Being curious, courageous and dedicated to protecting worker health
  • Being participative, involved and understanding that Occupational Hygiene is not an office-based profession
  • Providing technical advice on Occupational Hygiene related matters
  • Assisting in investigations and the development and implementation of Occupational Hygiene controls
  • Developing, reviewing and presenting Occupational Hygiene training programs aimed at exposure prevention
  • Building effective inter-departmental relationships that promote worker protection and exposure prevention
  • Conducting Occupational Hygiene surveys and analysing and evaluating exposure data
  • Ensuring Occupational Hygiene documentation is reviewed regularly and maintained appropriately
  • Working safely as an individual and within a team environment.
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:

      • Successfully completed, or be undertaking, postgraduate studies in Occupational Hygiene
      • A minimum of two years working in the Occupational Hygiene field in a mining or industrial setting
      • Proven experience developing, executing, and supporting site occupational hygiene programs
      • Experience in physically conducting monitoring for biological, physical and chemical contaminants
      • Experience in conducting audits, investigations, risk assessments and inspections
      • An understanding of relevant chemical-related legislation
      • An understanding of legislative requirements relating to health surveillance and occupational hygiene
      • A willingness to progress towards becoming a Licensed Asbestos Assessor
      • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
      • A current driver’s licence
