I’m sure that all will agree that AIOH 2018 Conference was an outstanding success. More pleasing for Council, and the Institute was that there were two International Attendees who were recipients of an International Award that allowed them to attend our Conference.

Michael Tate (NZOHS) was the recipient of the New Zealand 3M Young Hygienist Award; Aliff Firdaus bin Mat Yusoff (MIHA) was the recipient of the Malaysian 2018 3M Young Hygienist Award and winner of the ANOH SE Asian Region Conference Attendance Support package, sponsored by Dräger South East Asia.  We also had 14 International Colleagues venture to Melbourne representing the: Korean Industrial Hygiene Association (KIHA), Malaysian Industrial Hygiene Association (MIHA), Taiwan Occupational Hygiene Association (TOHA), Indonesian Industrial Hygiene Association (IIHA), British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society (NZOHS), South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH), Occupational & Environmental Health Society (OEHS) Singapore and the National Occupational Health & Safety Service Fiji.  It was also pleasing to host the President of the International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) Peter John “Jakes” Jacobs and the President of the Asian Network of Occupational Hygiene (ANOH) Prof. Donguk Park.

I hope that many of you seized the opportunity to network with our International colleagues and formed some new and valuable relationships.  It is also pleasing to announce that the AIOH is close to signing an MOU with the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene (SAIOH).
