The Communications and Marketing Sub Committee supports the AIOH in achieving its communication goals by developing and executing strategies aligned with the Strategic Plan. The committee’s work ensures that the Institute and the field of occupational hygiene are effectively promoted to members, stakeholders, and the broader community.


Purpose

The committee’s purpose is to develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that support the objectives of the AIOH Strategic Plan. This includes promoting the Institute and the field of occupational hygiene, advising on communication methods, overseeing The Filter magazine, and providing recommendations to Council for financial investments in communication initiatives. By guiding AIOH’s communications, the committee helps maintain professionalism, transparency, and engagement across all audiences.

Key Activities

  • Develop, document, and implement a Council-approved Communications and Marketing Strategy.
  • Oversee the production and distribution of The Filter magazine, ensuring content aligns with AIOH brand guidelines.
  • Advise on communication methods, channels, and campaigns to engage members and stakeholders effectively.
  • Collaborate with other committees and working groups to deliver media releases, fact sheets, and targeted communications.
  • Work with AIOH staff to ensure smooth publication, formatting, and distribution of content across digital and print platforms.
  • Monitor and support communication initiatives, providing recommendations to Council on investments or improvements as needed.
