The Membership Development Sub Committee (MD) ensures that professional membership applications to the AIOH are assessed fairly, consistently, and in line with the Institute’s standards. By reviewing qualifications, experience, and professional capability, the MDC helps safeguard the integrity of AIOH membership and supports the growth of our professional community.

Purpose

The purpose of the MDC is to uphold AIOH’s professional standards through the review and assessment of applications for Professional level membership. The committee ensures applicants are evaluated against the criteria outlined in the Membership Manual and provides recommendations to Council on membership upgrades and Fellow nominations when required.

Key Activities

  • Reviews and assesses applications for Full and Provisional Membership.
  • Provides recommendations to Council on membership outcomes and upgrades.
  • Supports the administration of the membership process alongside AIOH staff and Council.
  • Ensures reviews are conducted in line with the Membership Manual.
  • Resolves differences in assessment outcomes and provides transparent reporting to Council and the AGM.
  • Monitors membership trends and provides insights to support AIOH’s strategic development.
  • Reviews the Membership Guidelines every three years to ensure accuracy and alignment with current practice.
