How implementing an Australian Standard to an existing equipment fleet can stop lung disease for operators in cabs

With lung disease still occurring, fitting new and retrofitting existing cabins to provide a safe working environment is necessary. This session will discuss and illustrate how ISO/AS/NZS 23875: – Air quality control systems for operator enclosures – Performance requirements and test methods, can be fitted into new and existing fleets, easily & affordably.

Safety Benefits to operators:

  • Remote monitoring and data sets of the above parameters can be easily exported for fleet management.
  • Case studies will be discussed, illustrating before and after with challenges of popular equipment.
Presenter:

Simon Rooney, Territory Sales Manager, Australia & APAC Sy-Klone International AUS IMM, NACE, MESA member.

Simon is an accomplished professional with over 40 years of experience in Mining, Oil & Gas & construction industries worldwide holding many senior positions for GE, Oracle, Alcoa to name a few. He has project managed many environmentally beneficial projects. A government award was provided for one. His projects have also reduced carbon emissions and worker injuries and risk, with excellent ROI to the asset owner and is outcome focused.

Liam Wilson

Liam is a Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH) and a Full Member of the AIOH. Liam has over 25 years experience in managing risk globally across many industries, having worked for Rio Tinto, BHP and Alcoa. Liam is on the Standards Australia Mining Commitee and associated ISO Mining Commitee/Working Groups. Liam is the Australian representative on the ISO Working Group which developed AS/ISO 23875.
