The AIOH Victorian Chapter is pleased to partner with ACLCA Victoria for a joint member presentation this June, bringing together occupational hygiene and contaminated land professionals for an important discussion on asbestos in soils and the evolving regulatory landscape.
Presented by Halil Ahmet, Principal Hygienist at WorkSafe Victoria, the session will explore the updated WorkSafe Asbestos-in-Soils Flowchart and how it can assist industry professionals in navigating complex decision making processes associated with asbestos contaminated soils.
Managing asbestos in soils continues to present significant challenges across industry, with environmental and occupational health and safety legislation often intersecting. Differences in interpretation between jurisdictions, regulators and stakeholders can further complicate the pathway from identification through to management and remediation.
To support a clearer and more practical approach, WorkSafe Victoria has developed an updated online flowchart designed to simplify the process from identifying asbestos contamination within soils through to determining appropriate management options.
Halil Ahmet, who played a key role in the development of the flowchart, will discuss:
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals working across occupational hygiene, contaminated land, environmental consulting, construction and remediation to hear directly from WorkSafe Victoria and engage in discussion with industry peers.
Face 2 Face spots are limited – do not register for F2F is you don’t believe you will be able to attend.
