Join the AIOH SA Chapter for an insightful technical presentation exploring an innovative Australian technology designed to reduce diesel engine emissions and improve workplace health outcomes.
Developed in Adelaide and backed by more than 15 years of research and field testing, HYDI Hydrogen is a retrofit solution that generates hydrogen on demand using low-voltage electrolysis and demineralised water. By introducing hydrogen into the engine's air intake, the technology enhances combustion efficiency, resulting in a cleaner, more complete fuel burn.
For occupational hygienists, this technology offers a practical engineering control aimed at reducing worker exposure to diesel emissions. The presentation will discuss how the system has demonstrated reductions in Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) of up to 80%, while also lowering greenhouse gas emissions, providing an immediate solution for industries such as mining, transport and logistics.

HYDI’s Technical Manager based in Perth, Western Australia, and there’s nothing Buddy doesn’t know about the HYDI unit! Buddy is responsible for production of HYDI units, which are assembled and set to work in Perth. He’s also responsible for the development of all HYDI models.
