A panel of members and suppliers will discuss the latest technologies available and in use to control and monitor health hazards inherent to industries in the CQ region. The Chapter will also: • Hear from a local COH (not Jeb) on health hazard and exposure risk investigation; and, • Open up the floor to members wanting to discuss occ hygiene issues emerging at their sites. ….and maybe one round of Occupational Hygiene Trivia.

A Certified Occupational Hygienist working at Queensland Alumina Limited since February 2024. Alan previously served as Director and COH at Hero Environmental in South Africa from 2018 to 2024. Alan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and Chemistry from the University of Limerick, a Certificate in Legal Knowledge, Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene from the Durban University of Technology, and is registered as an Occupational Hygienist through the South African Institute of Occupational Hygiene.
A Certified Occupational Hygienist with over 20 years’ experience in heavy industry. After starting out in environmental and occupational hygiene consulting, she moved into minerals processing (direct reduce iron, alumina refining and aluminium smelting) and oil and gas (onshore and offshore), where she’s spent her career focused on protecting worker health.
The panelists for suppliers to discuss latest technologies are as follows:
Jeb Bromley is a COH with a long history in health, hygiene and safety who is passionate about protecting worker health. Through the CQ Chapter, Jeb is keen to bring together the experience of those with plenty of it, and those who are up-and-coming in occupational hygiene. Jeb believes a problem shared is a problem halved and within the bounds of confidentiality promotes active group discussion on how to address challenges being experienced by occupational hygiene professionals in various settings in the Region.
