The role is ideally suited to individuals having worked as an Occupational Health Nurse or Occupational Hygiene Technician and are looking to take their career to the next level.

The primary purpose of the position of the Specialist Health & Hygiene is to provide specialist support and advice to operation-based and functional teams on Occupational Health & hygiene technical aspects to support:
• Adherence to the FRV Health Standard
• Legal compliance and material-risk mitigation at the operational level
• The delivery of the functional business plan, health & hygiene improvement projects As a member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Department in the Office of the Fire Rescue Commissioner, the Specialist – Health & Hygiene you will work in partnership with stakeholders across our regions and districts.

• Attention to detail to compliance standards
• Analysis of data and trends
• Data management
• Innovation and able to demonstrate initiative

About the role

As the Specialist Health and Hygiene, you will be able to:

• Deliver operational support and technical advice for the effective administration of occupational health and hygiene matters
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams
• Manage complex issues and/or significant events to support management
• Maintain process for the collection and verification of occupational health and hygiene data
• Create systems and processes that enable organisation to meet their regulatory commitments

About you

To be considered for this role the essentials are:
• Undergraduate or post graduate qualification in Science, Engineering, Allied Health or related field
• Provisional member of AIOH or ability to attain membership.
• Current valid driver’s license
