The AIOH Council is pleased to advise that the 45th AIOH Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Tuesday, 1 December 2026 at 4:30 pm AEST. Further details about the AGM will be provided closer to the date.
Council nominations are now open, and members are also invited to submit items of new business for consideration at the AGM.

Key Dates

  • Council nominations close: 4:00 pm AEST, Tuesday, 6 October 2026
  • New business for the AGM agenda due: Friday, 30 October 2026
  • AIOH AGM: 4:30 pm AEST, Tuesday, 1 December 2026

Council Nominations Now Open
The following positions on Council will become vacant at the AGM:

  • President-Elect (nominees must have previously served on Council)
  • Honorary Treasurer
  • Two (2) General Councillors (two-year terms)

The following Council members will continue in their current roles:

  • President: Dr Ross Di Corletto (QLD)
  • Honorary Secretary: Dr Adelle Liebenberg (NSW)
  • General Councillor: John Padgham (QLD)

Eligibility & How to Nominate
To nominate for Council:

  • Nominees must be a Fellow or Full Member (including retired members) in good standing.
  • Nominations may be proposed and seconded by Fellow, Full or Provisional Members.
  • Complete the Council Nomination Form, ensuring all required signatures from the nominee, proposer and seconder are included.

Completed nomination forms must be received by 4:00 pm AEST on Tuesday, 6 October 2026 and may be submitted by:

Postal nominations must be date-stamped before the closing deadline to be valid. Nominations may also be accepted from the floor at the AGM in accordance with Rule 26.5.

Considering Serving on Council?
Serving on Council provides an opportunity to contribute to the governance, strategic direction and ongoing development of the Institute and the occupational hygiene profession.

Further information about Council roles and responsibilities is available in the Overview of AIOH Council Responsibilities and the AIOH Office Bearer Policy. Members considering nominating are also encouraged to speak with a current Council member about their experience.

Council meets monthly, predominantly online, with at least three meetings held in person each year. Reasonable travel costs associated with in-person Council meetings are covered in accordance with the AIOH Travel Policy.

Ballot Process
If the number of valid nominations received exceeds the number of available positions, a member ballot will be conducted. Eligible members will receive voting instructions, and the results will be announced at the AGM.

Submitting New Business
Members are invited to submit items of new business for consideration at the AGM. Submissions must be provided in writing to admin@aioh.org.au by Friday, 30 October 2026.
We encourage members to participate in the AGM process and eligible members to consider nominating for Council. Your involvement helps shape the future direction of AIOH and the profession.
