In 2025, RESP-FIT received a grant from the AIOH Foundation and further funding from the New Zealand Occupational Hygiene Society (NZOHS) to develop an online respirator selection tool — and it’s now ready to be shared with industry. This free tool is built on the SA/SNZ TS ISO 16975.1 selection framework, which aligns with the core selection principles of AS/NZS 1715.

As Australia and New Zealand transitions to the AS/NZS ISO suite of respiratory protection standards, many users will need to navigate this new classification and rating system that differs from the long‑established AS/NZS 1715/1716 approach. The RESP-FIT Online Respirator Selection Tool bridges this gap by providing respirator recommendations and considerations using the AS/NZS ISO classifications, along with equivalent AS/NZS 1715/1716 ratings where applicable.

The tool generates a downloadable PDF report that can be taken to respirator manufacturers or PPE distributors to clearly communicate the respiratory protection requirements for a given application. It can also be used within a Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) as documentation of the selection process undertaken.

Join us for this webinar to explore the tool’s key features, understand how it supports the new standards framework, and learn how to use it effectively in your workplace. Visit rpd.respfit.org.au today to try it out for yourself.
